Racheal Balogun shared with the students on how they can lead themselves and help others. She said, "the young ones among us are often called ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’. While that is true, another truth is if they do not start leading from today they may never get the chance to lead tomorrow." Leadership is influencing, motivating, guiding and directing people towards achieving a common goal. However, to successfully lead people, you must have led yourself. This brings me to say there are two types of leadership: Self Leadership and People Leadership. Self Leadership is knowing who you are, your values and purpose and then pushing and motivating yourself everyday to achieve that purpose. Self leadership precedes People leadership because it builds capacity in a person to effectively lead others. You must have experienced some private victories with yourself before leading people to achieving success. We all need leadership because it helps us have good lives. Self leaders

First Batch of the Career Symposiums and Mentorship Program (Purpose Discovery 2018)

We just concluded the first batch of the career symposiums and mentorship program for over 200 high school students in three Fridays. Over 130 were reached so far.  Students between the age of 13 - 19 were reached.

We live in a society, where young people are left to live the way they like. 90% of young people find it difficult to discover purpose in the African Society. The ones in high school find it difficult to connect what they do in the classroom with the practical world. Some of them even find it difficult to integrate into the labor market, which has led to high rate of cultism, poverty and low Human Development Index in the society. Therefore, Kayfactor Leadership and Career Academy (KLCA) was created. KLCA is a non profit organization that uses three pronged approach, Education for Sustainable Development, Mentorship, and Advocacy to help underserved young people to connect the classroom with the practical world.  KLCA engage network of youths in providing mentorship, educational supports, practical leadership training And other innovative and inclusive program.  We hope students develop practical life skills that enable them easily transit and integrate into the wor
