KLCA Career Seminars for Post Secondary School Students

At KLCA, we help young people discover purpose and help them forge trajectory for their career. We were at Mepog Computer School today to facilitate with Jambites and high school certificate holder on Career choice and Development. We share talks on Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Character building. We adopted the model (Self Awareness - Character - Skills- SCS)

We helped them in finding their interest and strength and the attitudes needed to reach the point of value in what they have chosen to become. We share with them skills they need to acquire to reach to the top of their career. And, we also talk to them on the supports and Network they need to grow in their career.

At the end, we share with them resources they need to develop optimally and become great in their chosen field.

Reports on the 3 Fridays Career Symposia and Mentorship Program!  Many young people in the African Community find it difficult to discover purpose and forge trajectory for their lives. This geared us towards helping young people to have a goal in mind.  Through one on one coaching, group mentoring and general sessions over 500 high school students were reached.  We cut across all classes from J.S.S 1 - S.S.S 3.  No of students; JSS 1 and 2 = 162 Age range: 8- 16 years JSS 3 and SSS 1= 203 Age Range: 12- 17 years  SSS 2 and SSS 3= 137 Age Range: 13 - 19 years. Whoa! It's a year already. This time last year we were pregnant with this dream. The dream to ensure that Secondary School Students live up to their potential. The dream to ensure that they can connect what they do in the classroom with the practical world. The dream to ensure that students develop life skills that enable them integrate into the labor market. The dream to provide positive role models and mentors to students. And create students who are character conscious and can replicate democracy. The dream to promote a peaceful society and create young and ethical leaders. The dream to break the poverty cycle and ensure that students in underserved communities are exposed to skills that enable them to compete with their peers. The dream to inspire them to dream.
