Course Title: Developing in your Career I

In developing in your career, you need support in reviewing options and converting information to actions.

Information is necessary for good quality career development but is not sufficient. If many of you are able to find the information you need, to understand this information, relate it to your personal needs and circumstances, and then to convert it into personal actions, majority of you will need some personal support.

Some of this personal support can be provided by family and friends or by teachers.
But it is important that you also have access to individual advise and guidance by competent practitioners who are:

1. Skilled in professional technique of career guidance

2. Knowledgeable about learning opportunities

3.Impartial and able to serve individual needs.

Majority are getting support of such from Kayfactor leadership and career academy. An example of this support provided by Kayfactor Leadership and Career Academy - KLCA is the career course some of you have decided to take.

REPORTS: Over 500 High School Students Were Reached in 3 Fridays

Reports on the 3 Fridays Career Symposia and Mentorship Program!  Many young people in the African Community find it difficult to discover purpose and forge trajectory for their lives. This geared us towards helping young people to have a goal in mind.  Through one on one coaching, group mentoring and general sessions over 500 high school students were reached.  We cut across all classes from J.S.S 1 - S.S.S 3.  No of students; JSS 1 and 2 = 162 Age range: 8- 16 years JSS 3 and SSS 1= 203 Age Range: 12- 17 years  SSS 2 and SSS 3= 137 Age Range: 13 - 19 years. Whoa! It's a year already. This time last year we were pregnant with this dream. The dream to ensure that Secondary School Students live up to their potential. The dream to ensure that they can connect what they do in the classroom with the practical world. The dream to ensure that students develop life skills that enable them integrate into the labor market. The dream to provide positive role models and mentors to students. And create students who are character conscious and can replicate democracy. The dream to promote a peaceful society and create young and ethical leaders. The dream to break the poverty cycle and ensure that students in underserved communities are exposed to skills that enable them to compete with their peers. The dream to inspire them to dream. Project LECT is a mentorship program that helps secondary school students especially those in underserved communities to develop life skills as well as use three pronged approach Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Character Education  to purpose discovery.
