Career Session with Kings College Boys, Lagos

One of our facilitator "Kayode Alabi" had a questioning and answering sessions with Kings College Boys Lagos, and we will share two of the questions and his responses to them.

A boy asked, I think I am good at many things and have many dreams, how do I choose the one I can do best and focus?

Response: After this session, get a pen and a paper. Write down your dream list, all the thing you want to achieve inclusive those things you are good at.

Write anything you can imagine. Then
now classify the list into group A, B, C.

A should contain the most important
dreams; B should contain second most important while C should be the least important.

After doing this, now go back to the A group and arrange your most important dream in order of priority…1, 2, 3… The dream that come first in the A group is your purpose and that’s what you have to give your all and ensure you achieve it, because it will lead to the achievement of others.

The second boy asked, people say I am good at reporting and journalism. But, I want to study medicine, how do I align both? Using Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren as a case study, how he combined being a campus reporter and  being a medical student. I said, he could be a medical journalist. That will help him a lot. He can report health matters within the campus. That will develop and improve him. Then, he will be a different and better Doctor.
