Career Planning 101

01/07/2017, we had the Career Planning 101 online course organized by Kayfactor Leadership and Career Academy- KLCA and I was privileged to facilitate the lecture. In the process of the lecture, I asked about what makes you feel good? and I was amazed by individuals response, great ideas from great minds, young intellects and Youths. I will like to share with you one or two responses.

Participant 1: I love to test recipe, planning events and teaching.

KLCA Facilitator: You can own an event centre and start an event service company. Also, you can start even start an event planning education centre.

Participant 2: providing help, advice, assistance, probono, impacting, teaching others and mentoring.

KLCA Facilitator: wow...this is great...you can harness all these great potentials and establish an NGO in relation to Education and Empowerment.

What am I trying to drive at? We have great people with great ideas in Africa and we can progress if we synergize and collaborate. KLCA is working towards creating an enabling environment to help young people thrive and collaborate. And if you have any idea, just get started, just do it.

Anything you have in mind, just start. That’s the best way to discover yourself. You cannot discover yourself by sleeping and dreaming all day long. You have to get started and decide. Who you want to be, what you want be and how you want to be, just decide. It just like water trying to move around stuffs (Will Smith), there would be obstacle on the way but just remain focused.


It is high time we take over and lead our life.

Reports on the 3 Fridays Career Symposia and Mentorship Program!  Many young people in the African Community find it difficult to discover purpose and forge trajectory for their lives. This geared us towards helping young people to have a goal in mind.  Through one on one coaching, group mentoring and general sessions over 500 high school students were reached.  We cut across all classes from J.S.S 1 - S.S.S 3.  No of students; JSS 1 and 2 = 162 Age range: 8- 16 years JSS 3 and SSS 1= 203 Age Range: 12- 17 years  SSS 2 and SSS 3= 137 Age Range: 13 - 19 years. Whoa! It's a year already. This time last year we were pregnant with this dream. The dream to ensure that Secondary School Students live up to their potential. The dream to ensure that they can connect what they do in the classroom with the practical world. The dream to ensure that students develop life skills that enable them integrate into the labor market. The dream to provide positive role models and mentors to students. And create students who are character conscious and can replicate democracy. The dream to promote a peaceful society and create young and ethical leaders. The dream to break the poverty cycle and ensure that students in underserved communities are exposed to skills that enable them to compete with their peers. The dream to inspire them to dream.
